I’m currently about to embark on a search for employment in London having never worked there before and would like some advice!
I have worked mainly in IT (MS Access, VBA, SQL Server) since completing a degree in Business and IT 4 years ago. I initially want to take some temp work for a couple of months (possibly using my IT skills) and then eventually, if commuting works out for me, take a full time job.
Any one out there got any tips for firstly temp agencies and also for IT recruitment specialists in the big city?

Presently working in India and I have been selected for the above post by Sun Oil & Gas Company, 78 Hills Drive Circle-Green Hemisphere GHJ875-London Tel+ 44(0) 702 403 86 94, Fax +44.455.4545. I have received soft copy of offer letter. They have asked me to pay for the VISA / WORK PERMIT and the fee is 1000GBP (which will be reimbursed on reporting for duty). This offer has been sent without any interview or phone call. But I had applied through naukari.com. Kindly enlighten me the geniuneness of the company and is this offer is genuine and can I pay the VISA charges. I have been adviced to contact Mr.Dennis James Khan, UK Gateway Travel Agency Limited 78 Manchester Drive-Yorkshire to procure the work permit for which I have remit /pay the fee of 1000 GBP (in Indian Rupee aprox Rs.90,000/- at thier Indian Bank Account. I am very much apprehensive about taking next step as I am not sure of existance of the company. Kindly help me in this regard so that I can move further.
